‘Sup! I’m Dennis, also known online as Defur.
I’m a community manager from Sweden with around 10 years in the games industry. Over that time I’ve worked in game design, QA, content, marketing, esports, and somehow ended up exactly where I probably always was meant to be: working close to players.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Game Design & Project Management from Södertörns University, and early in my career I moved to Tokyo to work at a small indie studio. That experience taught me a lot, not just about game development, but about how differently games can be built and communicated depending on culture and team structure.
Since then, I’ve worked across mobile, VR, and competitive games, building communities, shaping social and content strategies, organizing esports tournaments, and acting as a bridge between developers and players.
Over the years, I’ve also led global community initiatives, supported major launches, and helped grow competitive ecosystems across several titles.
Because I’ve worked in game teams - not just alongside them - I tend to look at community and marketing from a slightly different angle. I care a lot about how features, balance changes, and updates actually feel to players, not just how they perform on paper.
Today I work as a Community Manager at King in Stockholm, while staying involved in esports and content production whenever possible.
Long term, I’m interested in continuing to grow into roles where I can connect development, marketing, and player understanding in a smarter and more sustainable ways.
